6-Year-Old Boy Gets Hit By Car While Saving His Little Sister (Anecdote)

Kayden Reid saved his sister, Kaycee, from being hit by a car. He pushed her out of the way and took the hit instead, resulting in a brief hospitalization.

"By the time everybody else saw [Kaycee] in the street, Kayden was right there … He ran right into the street to save her. But in the process of getting her out of the way, he got hit by the car," his mother, Kayla Giles, told officials.

Kayden was taken to the hospital to get some stitches but has since recovered.

He received a hero's welcome from his local fire department when he returned home.

A blood test may someday help determine a person's risk for long Covid, new research suggests.

The study published Tuesday in the journal Nature communication found that people who go on to develop long Covid have lower levels of certain antibodies in their blood soon after they are infected with the coronavirus.

It’s no secret the City of Savannah is filled with scary things. It has ghosts, haunted mansions, cemeteries, 20-person bachelorette parties. And, for the next few weeks, movie producers have added their own sort of scary to this spook-filled town. “Halloween Ends” has been filming in Savannah for the past week or so under the guise of “Cave Dweller,” according to multiple reports.

Preliminary reports show two people were killed in collisions on South Carolina roads from Jan. 21-23, according to the Department of Public Safety. Both deaths occurred after the snow and freezing rain had stopped falling.

A hockey player is accused of making “monkey gestures” at his opponent during a minor-league game in Florida. “As soon as I began to turn my back, he started making monkey gestures at me, so I punched him in the face multiple times and he turtled like the coward he is,” Jordan Subban, a Black player for the South Carolina Stingrays, wrote in a Twitter post. His opponent, Jacob Panetta of the Jacksonville Icemen, is now suspended after his actions during the Jan. 22 overtime game in Florida, the East Coast Hockey League said in an online post.

Ricardino "Rico" Alvarez didn’t want to be known as a TikToker initially, but after his first posts gathered some attention, he kept going — eventually amassing more than 2.7 million followers and more than 100 million likes. Now known for flexing his pectoral muscles and dancing shirtless, Alvarez wants people to do what makes them happy, regardless of their weight or size.
